Do you need to speak french to work in the canadian government?

I currently speak English, Mandarin and I am also slowly learning Cantonese. I want to take Spanish in university because I love the language and it is my grandmother's native tongue ( I am already studying at UBC) but I am concerned since my goal is to become a translator/interpreter. I am also interested in working for the government or the united nations, and I know French is the second language in Canada. Do I need to learn french if I am considering working for the candian government/united nations?
