Does my dog know i'm mad at him?

I know this may sound stupid, but i'm very angry with my dog. I'm literally best friends with my dog, but he has been disappointing me lately in his jealousy of our new puppy. I know what every1 says "it will take time" but it's been awhile and he started to nip the puppy so i screamed at him and started to cry. That's how upset i am cuz i know he knows better he's a good dog but in my opinion right now he's being spiteful for no reason. Now its been an hour since then and he gives me sad looks and follows me around a bit. Do you think he knows that i'm mad at him??? And please no, stupid, immature, or just straight up rude answers. I'm not looking for that just simply answer my question hehe. =] thanx to all the answers
