Would the Mach 5 (speed racer)be street legal?

only with a great deal of time effort and money, which would make it totally useless as a speed racer! let's see where to start............hmmm. well first you will have to alter the suspension, narrow the rear-end and add fenders, then rewire it for proper lights, and signals. after that the addition of a proper exhaust system including catylitic converter and pcv meeting california emission standards (meaning racing fuel would be impossible to burn) is the next obvious step.then skipping all other repairs, and looking at the new "gas guzzler"tax, the tax alone probably will be more than the original cost!! after modifying to make it legal grandmas grocery getter would probably whup it any way so what's the point? but yes it and probably even the space shuttle could be street legal, with a LITTLE WORK,lol.
