Is Rupert Murdoch the guiding force behind the US Republican Party's policies?

So, a bunch of conservatives say the George Soros is running the democrat party, and you come up with this as a counter to it. You know Rupert Murdoch owns tons of media outlets, both liberal and conservative. The guy is a business man plain and simple. He saw an untapped market in cable news in America and created a news channel to cater to conservatives. The Fox entertainment network is not conservative in its programming at all. He's not an idealist, he's out to make money, and he's good at it.
