How do you get rid of and prevent acne?

I sometimes get the occasional zit. Ussually it is just blackheads and whiteheads. I wash my face every night with st ives apricot face wash and once a week in the shower i use st ives apricot exfoliating scrub. I always use st ives body lotion after as well. And i have those oil clots ?(things you use on your face to get rid of oil) that i use quite regularly too. Any tips on how to clear them up and prevent them from coming again? also maybe some tips on how to have nice skin (smooth, clean, clear) ?
