Can someone explain to me why is it that when Democrats control govt, Republicans still impose their policies?

Democrats don't roll over and play dead when they're in the minority either. Republicans are on a roll. They now have a plan and they are executing. Time is on their side. If all the Bush era tax cuts aren't extended now, they will be after January 3rd, retroactively. Either way, all the tax cuts will be extended (including the middle cl tax cuts). The difference is, doing it now will give Dems some stuff they want. Doing it later may not. Obama and most of the Dems understand this. Nancy Pelosi lives in her own little world and doesn't.
