When will rock & roll make a comeback?

At the moment lots of kids like boring post-rock (very similar to the prog rock of the 70s) and dance music (the new version of disco). In the 70s there was a backlash against prog rock and disco, with rock returning to its roots in the form of rockabilly, glam, hard rock and punk. When will these kick forms of rock make a comeback?
